Welcome to the official “Way of MA” weblog! We’re excited to announce this little sub-project here as a means for us to keep you updated with information and news, all pertaining to the “Way of MA” project. We hope you will enjoy!
What this blog will be for:
We’d like to have this opportunity to connect with our visitors in a more casual way and also show one or two things that are going on behind the scenes. At the time of writing, the project is lead by one person still and everything from the web design to the contents of the projects is done by one hand. This blog allows us to provide a little look behind the scenes and connect the rest of the Internet and world with the “Way of MA” website.
About the history:
From its very beginnings, this website was always a means to share philosophical content with others and to connect with people over a shared passion.
It all started with the “P-Entries” – a collection of short philosophical thoughts in often abstract language. Soon, the “P-System” (a combination of a notation system, formal language and formal system(s)) and its adjacent thoughts and ideas came into being, and it became clear that the overarching project would have to accommodate for both of these sub-projects. This gave rise to the idea of the “P-Project”: a philosophical project that has as its constituents such projects as the P-Entries and the P-System. With time, more elements were added to the P-Project.
Originally, the idea of P-Entries was to temporarily hold down promising thoughts that could later on get expanded into essays, articles and books. These entries, however, soon became their own product and got created at a pace that didn’t properly allow for other works such as essays, anymore. As the P-Entries were way too abstract, theoretical and technical, it soon became obvious that we should also create longer texts and content that explains upon these entries. Originally, this was the “Commentary”. That project then evolved into the “First Book”, which evolved backwards into a new generation of “P-Entries” and gave rise to the “Entries Explorer”.
Step by step, more projects got added. This is how the project evolved from an original “P-Entries” collection to the “P-Project”, the “ 大書 ” texts and eventually an “Apologia”.
Upcoming plans:
The very idea behind “Way of MA” is philosophical exchange. As passionate lovers of philosophy, we are excited to be working on a project that aims at inspiring thought and connecting people, eventually. Therefore, the current trajectory is to expand on the social and community aspects of the website: a dialogue system (which is already running in a minimal form), a guest book (which had its first entry already), this blog, user profiles and means of contributing to e.g. the “P-Entries” and so on. Of course, if you have ideas or requests as to what would be interesting for the website, you can always let us know!
